From the Beginning



So from day one this has been an interesting vehicle. As we chose the vehicle with side safety airbags. (4 children) We inquired about adding a DVD unit. The Fleet manager said we have one in the same color and it was only 1,600.00 more. Cool. We took it. After getting home and having an odd feeling I looked up the VIN number through toyota and found out that the vehicle did not have side air bags. I called that day and asked the Fleet manager if this was true and he assured me that we had side airbags. Still not satisfied I called again and he looked it up and confirmed that I was correct. I said I wanted the vehicle with side airbags and the DVD pacakage, He said no problem bring it back and the other one will cost an additional 3,000.00 Strike one.

Next within 9 months the A/C was blowing hot air. Took it in it got fixed. A couple months later it started blowing hot air again. This time they fixed it with a bonus. The wrecked the front end and said that is how we brought it in. After several times telling them that was impossible and it showed on their sheet no dents they fixed it. Strike two.

Now with 50,000 miles the electronic side door quit working. We took it in to get an estimate. 1,800.00 for something about a motor encased in the rear. Poor design since the motor should be in the door itself. Cant afford to fix it. Did I mention the rotors had to be replaced at 24,000 miles? Also the recall on the drivers door truss or bracket breaking. Yep it broke and after being fixed it stickes sometimes whe you go to open the door. Strike three.

Now at 57,000 miles the A/C goes out again. Sorry no help with warranty assitance. No one wants to step up. Toyota customer service on the national level refered us back to the dealer to work it out with the door issue. No electronic door should go out in less than 3 1/2 years. Poor design poor workmanship and poor customer service. Later in my rantings I'll list the dealerships and customer service reps names from the national level.

By the way. This is my 6th Toyota. I have put well over 500,000 miles on my toyotas. This is by far the worst car of 29 I have ever owned.
